Delta By-Elections: Appeal Court Constitutes Election Petition Tribunal
The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, has constituted the Election Petition Tribunal to handle petitions arising from the National and State Houses of Assembly by-elections held in Delta State on September 19, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the tribunal’s Secretary, Akawu Bambur, Justice Dongban-Mensem constituted the tribunal “under the provisions of Section 285(2) and (3), paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and Section 134(2) and (3) of the Electoral Act of 2016.”
“The petition tribunal is for the National and State Houses of Assembly by-election held on Saturday, September 19,” the statement added.
The Delta State Secretariat of the Election Petition Tribunal is located at the Multi-Door Court House, High Court of Justice Complex, Asaba.
