The Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Onojaeme Joseph, yesterday conducted an unannounced inspection of the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, following reports of absenteeism among hospital staff.

Onajaeme warned that any staff found absent or neglecting their duties would face immediate disciplinary action.

He stressed the commitment of the state government to uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards absenteeism and inefficiency across all public institutions in the state.

The inspection was part of ongoing efforts by the state government to enhance the quality of healthcare services at public hospitals and reinforce professionalism within the sector. The Commissioner also took time to review ongoing infrastructure projects at the hospital.
