Delta NDC Guber Candidate Condemns Uvwie Rally Attack, Vows to Continue Campaign
The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Delta State, Chris Iyovwaye, has condemned the violent attack that disrupted the party’s rally along Sheriff Oborevwori Way in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state, allegedly involving suspected thugs.
Iyovwaye, in a statement posted on X, said the incident would not deter the NDC from continuing its campaign, insisting that the momentum was building despite what he described as violence, intimidation and attempts to silence the people.
He said anyone seeking to lead the people must prioritise the protection of lives, respect citizens and create an environment where every citizen can live without fear.
The NDC candidate vowed that the party would continue to speak, engage, organise and peacefully demand a better Delta State, stressing that the people deserve better and that its resolve remains strong.
