The Delta State Police Command has commenced the enforcement of a ban on vehicles operating without registration number plates or with concealed, altered, defaced, obscured, or unreadable plates within Asaba and surrounding areas.
The exercise, initiated by the Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, is aimed at strengthening security, improving vehicle identification, and supporting crime prevention efforts across the state.

As part of the operation, 26 vehicles found to be in violation of vehicle registration regulations were impounded, while the affected motorists were arraigned before a Mobile Court in Asaba for the relevant offences.

Speaking during the exercise, Oyeniyi urged motorists to comply with registration requirements and ensure that approved number plates are properly displayed. He noted that the enforcement drive is intended to enhance public safety and promote adherence to the law.

The Commissioner also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations to extend and sustain the enforcement across Delta State, with all Area Commands, Divisions, and tactical formations mandated to ensure strict compliance.
