The inspection took place on September 11, with the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Agofure Onoriode, representing the Delta State Government at the facility.

Agofure joined His Royal Majesty, Prof. Epiphany Chibogu Azinge, SAN, OON, and his chiefs during the inspection of the newly completed jetty.

The facility, delivered through the Directorate of Transport, is expected to provide a more convenient and safer point for water transport activities, while improving the movement of passengers and goods.

The project is also expected to improve comfort for travellers using the waterways and strengthen connectivity around the Cable Marine Point axis.

The inspection offered an opportunity for the state government and traditional leadership to assess the completed facility and its potential role in supporting water transportation in Asaba.

The development forms part of the Delta State Government’s stated push to improve transportation infrastructure and create safer and more efficient movement of people and goods.
