Former Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, has assumed duty as the new Commander of Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron 31 in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

His first public appearance in the new role came during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Jude Chukwunwike, at the council secretariat. Photos from the visit, which surfaced online on Monday, showed Hundeyin leading a delegation of police officers.

A Facebook post by Delta State Governor’s media aide, Fetuga Robert-Anyawu, confirmed Hundeyin’s appointment as Commander of PMF Squadron 31, Ogwashi-Uku. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the police squadron and the local government to enhance security in the area.

Also present at the meeting were the council’s Vice Chairman, Patricia Ekwutozam Adolue; Council Secretary, Prince Tony Ebube; Supervisory Councillor for Health, Austin Unorchie; and other local government officials.

Hundeyin served as the Force Public Relations Officer after his appointment in September 2025 by the then Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. He was promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police during his time as Force spokesperson.

Before his national assignment, he was the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command and also served at the Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters in Lagos. In 2020, he participated in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Lagos State University and a master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.

Hundeyin’s redeployment followed a recent leadership reshuffle in the Nigeria Police Force after the appointment of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu.
