Hon. Arthur Okolosi Sworn In as Udu State Constituency Representative in Delta Assembly

Okolosi took the oath of office during Tuesday’s plenary of the Delta State House of Assembly, formally commencing his legislative responsibilities as the representative of the Udu State Constituency.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, administered the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Membership on Okolosi in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

His swearing-in followed the successful conduct of the Udu State Constituency bye-election on September 19, 2026, organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Okolosi emerged victorious in the bye-election, securing the mandate to represent the people of Udu State Constituency in the Delta State legislature.

The ceremony at the Assembly complex marked the formal transition from his emergence as the winner of the bye-election to his assumption of legislative duties.

As a member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Okolosi is expected to participate in plenary deliberations, legislative debates, oversight functions and other activities aimed at representing the interests of his constituents.

His arrival also brings a new voice from Udu State Constituency into the Assembly, with constituents expected to look to the lawmaker for effective representation on issues affecting development, infrastructure and the welfare of residents.

The Udu State Constituency bye-election became necessary following the vacancy in the constituency's seat, leading INEC to conduct the September 19 poll.

With his swearing-in, Hon. Arthur Okolosi has now officially assumed the responsibilities attached to the office and becomes part of the legislative process in Delta State.
