Leaders and stakeholders from the Ijaw ethnic nationality in Delta State have reaffirmed their loyalty and support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, promising to back his administration beyond its first term.

During a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Ijaw Leaders and Stakeholders, Broderick Bozimo, expressed gratitude for the positive impact Oborevwori’s administration has had on the Ijaw community and the wider Delta populace.

“It gives me special pleasure to express our deepest appreciation for what your administration is doing for the Ijaw nation.” Bozimo said, affirming the community’s commitment to support the governor in the upcoming 2027 elections. “When we say it, we mean it.”

In response, Governor Oborevwori acknowledged the support he received from the Ijaw nation during his electioneering campaign, noting that he did not lose any local government area within the district. He praised the political unity among the Ijaw people, urging other ethnic groups to emulate their cohesiveness.
