Independence Day: Oborevwori Urges Nigerians to Support Reforms, Says Better Days Ahead
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on Nigerians to remain united and committed to the country’s development, saying the reforms currently underway require consistency and collective support to deliver meaningful results.

The governor made the call in his message to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary. The statement was signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon.
Oborevwori said Nigerians should not lose confidence in the country despite the economic and social challenges facing the nation, expressing optimism that the ongoing reform process would eventually produce improved conditions for citizens.
“There is hope on the horizon and brighter days ahead,” the governor said.
He also appealed to Deltans to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, as well as his administration’s MORE Agenda.
According to him, maintaining stability and continuity in governance would help governments sustain ongoing projects and policies rather than frequently changing direction.
In Delta, Oborevwori said his administration was contributing to the wider development effort through investments in infrastructure, renewable energy, employment opportunities and initiatives aimed at attracting investors into the state.
The governor said these measures were designed not only to improve public infrastructure but also to create an environment where businesses could grow and more residents could access economic opportunities.
He acknowledged the difficulties being experienced by citizens but urged them to remain resilient and committed to the Nigerian project.
Oborevwori further pledged that his administration would continue to pursue an inclusive approach to governance, with emphasis on programmes capable of improving the quality of life and widening opportunities for people across Delta State.
He congratulated Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary and called for greater unity and patriotism as the country continues its journey towards economic growth and national development.
