INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, gave the assurance on Tuesday at a World Press Conference and National Stakeholders’ Meeting in Abuja, saying preparations had moved from planning to execution.

Amupitan said election materials were in production, technology was undergoing quality assurance, while the voters’ register had been finalised for public display and election personnel were being trained.

He disclosed that the three phases of Continuous Voter Registration added 10,772,421 voters, bringing the national register to about 103 million. The register will be displayed from October 9 to 15, with Phase 1 PVC distribution to Local Government centres beginning the same day.

The Commission has also advanced production of 57,000 new BVAS devices, while procurement of ballot papers and result sheets is nearing completion.

Amupitan said nine of the 14 statutory milestones in INEC’s revised election timetable had been completed, with the remaining activities being implemented across the country.

He acknowledged government funding released so far but appealed for outstanding funds to be made available promptly to support the completion of preparations for the February 2027 polls.
