The centre was officially opened by Jobberman Nigeria in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, with Delta State's Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer, Hon. Ifeanyi Michael Egwunyenga, in attendance.

The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers by helping young people identify suitable vacancies, improve their employability and access career support. It will also assist businesses in connecting with candidates whose skills match their workforce needs.

The opening comes as youth employment remains a major development concern in Delta, where access to relevant skills, work experience and suitable job opportunities is essential to improving livelihoods.

Through the Job Centre, job seekers will be able to access employment-related support, including guidance on their job search and assistance with preparing for recruitment opportunities. Employers can also use the centre to connect with potential workers.

Speaking at the launch, Egwunyenga described the initiative as a welcome contribution from the private sector towards improving youth employability and strengthening the state’s workforce.

The partnership with the Mastercard Foundation forms part of broader efforts to expand young people’s access to skills development and dignified work.
