Judge Orders Nnamdi Kanu Out of Court After Heated Disruption
Justice Omotosho dismissed Kanu's fresh motions, appeal referral bid and bail request before ordering his removal to restore order.

A tense moment played out at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday when Justice James Omotosho ordered security operatives to remove detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu from the courtroom. The directive followed Kanu’s repeated interruptions as he insisted the court could not proceed to judgement without first accepting his written address.
Proceedings were briefly paused as security agents escorted him out, moments after the judge dismissed fresh motions he filed even though the matter had already been set for judgement. Justice Omotosho ruled that the issues Kanu raised had been settled in earlier applications.
The court also rejected his bid to refer the case to the Court of Appeal, citing Section 306 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, which bars the suspension of criminal trials. His request for bail was equally refused, with the judge saying some concerns he raised would be addressed in the final judgement.
Kanu’s outburst resumed just as the judge attempted to begin reading the verdict, prompting his removal and allowing the court to restore order.
