NNPC Clarifies Petrol Discount Sales…
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has clarified its petrol discount offer, announcing that the N66 per litre reduction will remain in place until October 31, 2026.

The discount, which began on October 1 to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, is intended to provide temporary relief to customers facing rising fuel costs, the company said in a statement issued on Friday.
NNPC attributed the pressure on petrol prices to elevated global crude oil prices linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, noting the impact on household expenses and business operations.
The company stressed that the discount does not signal a return to fuel subsidy, describing it as a customer relief initiative that does not alter the market-based pricing framework for petroleum products.
NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, said the company would continue collaborating with the Federal Government and other stakeholders to ease the financial burden on Nigerians while maintaining a reliable supply of petroleum products.
