Olu of Warri, Ogbe-Ijoh Monarch Hold Historic Meeting Amid Warri Boundary Disputes
The private visit to Ogbe-Ijoh comes as Itsekiri and Ijaw tensions persist over ward delineation in Warri, raising hopes of dialogue.

The Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiamẹ Atuwatse III, CFR has paid a private visit to the Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Monbene III, at Ogbe-Ijoh, headquarters of Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The visit comes amid lingering tensions between the Itsekiri and Ijaw ethnic nationalities over territorial claims in Warri South-West and Warri South local government areas, raising hopes of improved relations between the neighbouring kingdoms.
Observers say the visit is significant given recent controversies surrounding the delineation of wards and polling units in Warri Federal Constituency, which sparked protests by stakeholders across the area.
The royal engagement is also seen as complementing recent efforts by President Bola Tinubu to address concerns arising from the contentious delineation exercise.
Stakeholders believe the meeting could help promote peaceful dialogue and ease tensions as communities seek lasting solutions to issues affecting the area.
