Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has held talks with Belgium’s new Ambassador to Nigeria, Patrick Englebert, on expanding cooperation between the state and the European country.

The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, also had the ambassador’s wife, Nkazabwa Nkandali, in attendance.

Makinde said the discussions focused on strengthening the relationship between Oyo State and Belgium, with attention to areas including agribusiness, education and technology.

The governor shared details of the engagement in a post on his official X account, describing Englebert’s visit as a courtesy call.

The meeting signals the state government’s interest in leveraging international development partnerships to advance opportunities across key sectors of the Oyo economy.
