Passengers abducted in Imo State bus attack
A bullet-damaged car was found near the airport, and both Imo and Enugu have deployed drones and extra patrols.
Gunmen hijacked a bus on the Owerri-Aba Road in Ngor-Okpala, Imo State, leaving the vehicle abandoned and locals stunned. Nearby, a car was found with bullet damage linked to attacks around Sam Mbakwe International Airport, but no casualties have been reported.
In neighbouring Enugu State, motorists have been stopping on rural roads amid fears of kidnappings, with video footage showing a man pleading for help. Governors in both states have deployed drones and increased security patrols to address the situation. However, residents remain concerned about the safety of road travel as the Christmas period approaches.
