Police operatives in Delta State have arrested two suspected armed robbers in Ogwashi-Uku after a raid on Chelsea Street in the early hours of August 4, 2025. The suspects, identified as 22-year-old Thywill Selvin and 32-year-old Guntim Bako, were arrested with the help of local vigilantes.

Delta Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe confirmed the arrests and said the suspects attempted to escape but were caught. Weapons recovered included a pump-action rifle, a Beretta pistol, ammunition, two motorcycles, laptops, mobile phones, and other valuables.

According to Edafe, some victims have already identified the suspects, linking them to recent attacks in the community. He said the quick mobilisation of operatives prevented further harm.

The suspects are in custody as investigations continue to trace other members of their gang.
