A routine stop-and-search operation along the Agbarho–Warri Road ended with the arrest of two men and the recovery of suspected cocaine, firearms and other items believed to be linked to criminal activity.

The suspects were intercepted on Saturday July 25, 2026, by operatives of the Safer Highway Patrol while travelling in a grey Mercedes-Benz ML SUV with registration number AAA 604 JZ.

The men, identified as Omini Ezeri, 46, and Chinedum Wagbara, 42, both residents of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, were taken into custody after officers searched the vehicle.

A third occupant of the SUV, identified as GodKnows Ifreke, allegedly fled during preliminary questioning, escaping into a nearby swamp before he could be apprehended.

A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered two locally made Beretta-style pistols loaded with nine rounds of live ammunition, about 200 grams of a substance suspected to be cocaine, a walkie-talkie, a dagger, a grinder and two high-end mobile phones.

Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect, while the two arrested men remain in custody pending the conclusion of investigations.
