Solomon Dalung Condemns Alleged Assault on Delta Governor’s Protocol Officer
Dalung said Tempo Mudi was allegedly attacked at an APC meeting in Effurun for praising Tinubu, urging debate over violence.

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has condemned the alleged assault on Mr. Tempo Mudi, the Protocol Officer to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, following an incident at the Delta State APC leadership meeting in Effurun.
According to reports, Mudi was allegedly attacked by some youths after he reportedly described President Bola Tinubu’s administration as “the best thing to happen to Nigerians” during the meeting.
The incident reportedly disrupted the gathering, with claims that the governor’s aide sustained injuries in the attack.
Reacting to the development, Dalung said that if the reports are true, he condemns the assault in its entirety, stressing that every Nigerian has the constitutional right to express personal opinions, regardless of whether others agree with them.
He stated that while many Nigerians may strongly disagree with Mudi’s remarks about the Tinubu administration, resorting to violence over differing political opinions is unacceptable. Dalung urged those who disagree to challenge such views with facts and reasoned arguments rather than intimidation or physical attacks.
The former minister added that attacking people for expressing their opinions undermines democracy and weakens the principles of freedom of expression, calling on Nigerians to embrace tolerance and peaceful political engagement.
