Wike: ‘Bloody Thieves, Like Amaechi Won’t Get to Nigeria’s Presidency’
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticised former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi over his reported remarks against supporters of President Bola Tinubu, declaring that the former minister is unfit to lead Nigeria.

Wike spoke in Abuja after meeting with FCT area council chairmen, accusing Amaechi, who is associated with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), of insulting Nigerians who intend to vote for Tinubu. He also threatened to make political campaigning difficult for Amaechi in Rivers State if he continued making such remarks.
The FCT minister further challenged Amaechi to account for projects and financial transactions from his tenure as Rivers State governor, citing the abandoned monorail project, an alleged $39 million expenditure on the Justice Karibi-Whyte Hospital, a $10 million fumigation contract and the reported $308 million proceeds from the sale of power assets.
These allegations were presented by Wike and could not be independently verified from the information provided.
On the ongoing strike by the FCT chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Wike described the action as politically motivated, insisting that the administration had reached agreements on the issues raised by organised labour.
He directed area council chairmen to ensure that teachers and other civil servants return to work, warning that the government would enforce the no-work, no-pay policy.
Wike also alleged that the strike was being driven by political interests, a claim that has not been independently established.
