In a statement reacting to the power disruption linked to the strike by the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), BEDC stressed that electricity remained critical to healthcare delivery, particularly in hospitals and other medical facilities that depend on a steady power supply.

The company urged the parties involved to resolve the dispute through dialogue, warning against allowing the industrial action to undermine essential services.

“Dialogue, not disruption, is the way forward,” BEDC said.

The appeal comes amid the blackout affecting the four states, raising concerns about the impact of prolonged power interruptions on hospitals, businesses and households.
