The governor disclosed this after meeting with a CAF delegation headed by Dr Christian Emeruwa, who leads projects for the CAF Awards and CAF General Assembly.

Discussions centred on the arrangements required to host the ceremony, with Sanwo-Olu identifying security, logistics, branding and access to the venue as key areas where the state would provide support.

He said Lagos intended to use the occasion to present its cultural diversity, youthful population and commercial vibrancy to visitors arriving from across Africa and beyond.

The December ceremony is expected to bring together football administrators, stakeholders and other guests, giving Lagos another opportunity to host an international sporting event.
