Court Remands ‘Odogwu Asaba’ Over Late Favour’s Death
The Delta State Police investigation into the death of late Favour has been concluded following the receipt of the autopsy and toxicology test results, according to the deceased’s lawyer, Awele Ideal.

The Delta State Police investigation into the death of late Favour has been concluded following the receipt of the autopsy and toxicology test results, according to the deceased’s lawyer, Awele Ideal.
In a statement on Friday, September 4, 2026, Ideal disclosed that the results were received by the police investigation team and incorporated into the investigation report prepared for the prosecution and trial of the case.
She further revealed that an application to remand Mr Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, was heard and granted by the court on Friday. Ogbonna has subsequently been remanded at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre pending further court proceedings.
According to Ideal, the case will now proceed under the supervision of the Ministry of Justice, through the Attorney-General and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), as the trial process begins.
The lawyer reaffirmed her commitment to representing Favour’s family on a pro bono basis, including providing legal and financial support, and promised to continue updating the public as the case progresses.
