Defence Officers, Asagba of Asaba, Ovie of Udu Visit Orodje of Okpe
The monarch told intelligence officers on a study tour that Okpe's 13 districts feed grassroots security, before joining fellow rulers at a wedding.
The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Orhue I, has received participants of the Advance Defence Intelligence Officers Course 16/2026, as well as the Asagba of Asaba and Ovie of Udu Kingdom, His Majesties Azinge Asagba and Okporua I, at his palace in Orerokpe, Delta State.
The Defence Intelligence College delegation, led by Group Captain Abdulazees Olalekan Adisa, Deputy Commandant L, visited as part of a study tour focused on security, peacebuilding and community relations.
Receiving the officers, the Orodje, who is the Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, said Okpe Kingdom’s 13 administrative districts provide important channels for grassroots intelligence and work with local vigilante groups to safeguard lives and property.
He urged the officers to remain professional and patriotic in the service of Nigeria.
Adisa said the interaction would strengthen civil-military relations and improve the officers’ understanding of the role of traditional institutions in grassroots security management. The delegation also presented a souvenir plaque to the monarch.
The Orodje also received the Asagba of Asaba, SAN, and the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, at his palace before trio monarchs proceeded to the marriage ceremony of the Delta State Governor’s son, Innocent Oborevwori.
The Orodje described the visit as a demonstration of unity among traditional rulers in Delta State, while the visiting monarchs prayed for peace and progress in Okpe Kingdom, Delta State and Nigeria at large.
