Oborevwori Pays Triple Cash Prizes to Outstanding Delta Civil Servants

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved and released the enhanced cash rewards promised to civil servants who distinguished themselves during the 2026 Civil Service Week celebration.

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved and released the enhanced cash rewards promised to civil servants who distinguished themselves during the 2026 Civil Service Week celebration.

The cheques were presented to the beneficiaries on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Office of the Head of Service in Asaba.

The presentation was made by the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, to workers recognised for outstanding performance in areas including punctuality, commitment, productivity and service delivery across various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The payments followed the governor's earlier pledge to increase the financial rewards attached to the awards by threefold.

Speaking during the presentation, Oseji commended the governor for keeping his word and using the reward system to encourage excellence within the state civil service.

She said the gesture would help strengthen workers' morale and encourage more civil servants to distinguish themselves in the performance of their duties.

The beneficiaries received the cheques amid expressions of appreciation, with the enhanced rewards providing additional recognition for their contributions to the public service.

Umufo Faith — Most Valuable Staff, Junior Category, Ministry of Youth Development — ₦150,000

Reuben Udolu — Most Punctual Staff, Senior Category, Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development — ₦150,000

C. N. Atisele — Most Punctual Staff, Senior Category, Delta State Hospital Management Board — ₦150,000

Oniovokukor Rukvwe Raphael — Most Valuable Staff, Senior Category, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal — ₦150,000

Emmanuel Okotete — Highest Goal Scorer, Football Competition, Ministry of Oil and Gas — ₦200,000

Abuga Dennis — Best Civil Servant Farmer, Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources — ₦750,000

The event was attended by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Charity Ehimen-Babigha; Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Ejiro Erhiakeme; Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Bright Agbogu; and other officials and staff of the Office of the Head of Service.

The payment of the enhanced prizes underscores the state government's effort to use recognition and incentives to promote professionalism and stronger performance within the Delta State public service.
