Omo-Agege Takes ‘Rig and Die’ Warning to Agbarho, Says Nothing Will Stop Voters’ Will
Former Deputy Senate President and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Delta Central, Ovie Omo-Agege, has intensified his warning against electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that attempts to manipulate votes will not be tolerated.

Omo-Agege made the remarks as he led the NDC campaign team to Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State to engage residents and canvass support for his senatorial bid.
The warning follows his earlier declaration at a campaign event in Uvwie that anyone caught rigging the 2027 election would be killed, a statement that has drawn attention to the increasingly combative rhetoric surrounding the forthcoming polls.
“Anybody who rig election that day, we will kill him. Rig and die,”
he remarked to supporters.
During his engagement, the former lawmaker maintained that the outcome of the election must reflect the choices made by voters, insisting that intimidation and interference would not override the people’s mandate.
“Nothing will stop the will of the people,” he added.
The campaign also warned against voter intimidation, thuggery and manipulation of the electoral process, arguing that every eligible voter must be allowed to cast a ballot freely and without fear.
The NDC candidate’s position places electoral credibility at the centre of his campaign as political parties begin mobilising supporters across Delta State ahead of the 2027 elections.
However, his threat to kill alleged election riggers has raised concerns about the consequences of violent language in an already competitive political environment. While electoral fraud is a serious offence, allegations must be investigated by the relevant authorities and offenders prosecuted under the law, rather than subjected to extrajudicial punishment.
