The residents said the road would ease movement of people and goods, improve access to essential services and address years of transportation difficulties despite the area's oil and gas activities.

The Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructure Development, Hon. Ebikeme Clark, gave the project a pass mark during an inspection tour, commending the contractor, Ocean Explorers Nigeria Limited, for delivering quality work.

The company's General Manager, Muobor Krubu, said the road, awarded in September 2025, features rigid pavement, drainage channels, access slabs and concrete culverts designed to enhance durability and control water flow.

Community stakeholders, including Victoria Omajugho, Gabriel Utieyintsola, Frederick Kuke, Tuemi Mene and Comrade Ofeoritse Tonukarin, described the project as a long-awaited intervention that would improve connectivity and stimulate local commerce.

They commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for extending his MORE Agenda to riverine communities and appealed for sustained development interventions in the area.

Clark also appreciated President Bola Tinubu for the financial support enabling the state government to execute infrastructure projects across Delta's 25 local government areas.

With the road completed, residents are anticipating its formal commissioning, expressing optimism that improved connectivity will translate into better livelihoods and expanded economic activities.
